THE ZARKA:
Cartoon made with my friend and colleague Juan Bertrán, an excellent Cuban cartoonist who is the intellectual author of the script of this story, together we shaped it, my contribution was the digital realization, color, text, montages, but the final result is something that It can only be achieved when working as a team and well coordinated.
ROBOTICS:
Cartoon made with my scriptwriter friend Daniel Solano, with whom I have done several works that have been published in Cuba and abroad, this Robotics series was created for the magazine Juventud Técnica, of the Casa Editora Abril in Cuba, it was being published during some years, it was also published in Argentina, in Áspid magazine.
JOURNALS:
What those times, when drawing comics was more of a personal pleasure than an economic necessity, when imagination with the help of only a pencil, pen or brush was the way out because today's technological and digital development did not yet exist, what those times when publishing for the love of art without receiving any payment was something pleasant, (which was saved for the curriculum).
What a time when when we published some work, we almost left the kiosk empty to buy copies to give to family and friends, what a time when Photoshop was just an English word associated with photography and the brush, the Centropen and the nib prevailed What a time when the documentation archive was books and magazine clippings, adding hours in a library making notes with a pencil.
What times those when what was published seemed the best even with printing problems and on newspaper, today we work on powerful computers with a Tera hard drive, 4, 8 and more gigabytes of RAM, HD screen, also thanks to Wacon tablets we can draw directly on the screen and see the result instantly and we can send it by email to the publisher or post it on Facebook and share it with thousands of friends instantly.
What a time when we worried about the number of the pen, and the brand of the HB pencil, instead of the latest version of Photoshop, now everything is easier, when designing, we have thousands of fonts, before if it came out something bad had to be covered with white tempera or scraped with a knife, cardboard is hardly used anymore, and the color and montage effects are wonderful, but... how strange that time was, what times those of the stories that at the end told, (to be continued )…
